'WHITEOUT', Hunting Murderer, hunted Left

Carrie Stetko (Kate Beckinsale) choose to be law enforcement in Antarctica after the traumatic events he experienced in Miami. Carrie really just want to cool off in remote areas as the weather was not friendly at all this. But when a murder occurs there, Carrie could not help but to intervene before his stint in Antarctica was over and he had to return to Miami.

Carrie originally thought his work in Antarctica would be easy. He will ensure that only the scientists who were doing research there in a safe condition. And in places remote really like Antarctica, there will be no strange events that happened. Unfortunately this expectation did not materialize Carrie. Shortly before his job there ended, a murder occurs, and as Carrie law enforcement to handle.

Unfortunately, Carrie did not have much time. She must complete the case within three days or he will be stuck in Antarctica even longer. Within three days, will enter the Antarctic winter and the sun will not be visible for six months. Fortunately, Carrie had help from Robert Pryce (Gabriel Macht), a UN officer who was assigned there.

When launched in 1998, comic Greg Rucka and Steve Lieber's Whiteout entitled achieve remarkable popularity even in Indonesia itself is not much to know. Do not want to waste the opportunity, this comic sequel to be made soon and remain as a popular comic in America there. When the idea to raise this comic to the big screen in 1999, the enthusiasm of the fans of this comic big enough. Unfortunately the results of this adaptation can not beat the original version.

Apart from the adaptation or not, this WHITEOUT inevitably reminiscent of INSOMNIA movie starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams, and Hilary Swank. The difference, if INSOMNIA able to bring the audience to get involved in the inner struggle of the characters in it, is precisely WHITEOUT no more than ordinary thrillers memorable mediocre.

What is clear, the story line predictable enough dialogue between the players while also not too convincing. What's worse, Kate Beckinsale as unable to turn the character Carrie Stetko who had an unpleasant past. Two sides of this Carrie Kate could not be manifested as happened to Al Pacino in the movie INSOMNIA. (Source: Kompas)
