When two gunmen, Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch, reaching Appaloosa is a small, dusty town without law suffer at the hands of renegade rancher Randall Bragg.

Bragg has not only taken supplies, horses, and women on their own, but has also left the city marshal and a deputy for dead.

In Bragg to find an adversary that poses a very clever game by playing with the emotions.
